Deployable surfaces
An inflatable, rapidly deployable, origami-inspired shelter

ABOUT
Our rapidly deployable origami structure addresses both the immovability of permanent architecture and the complexity of temporary structures. This design involves a series of panels, joined by strong hinges, that are assembled into an origami-inspired tube design. one internal piece is all that is necessary for actuation of the entire structure, which is performed by a inflatable bag housed within the central panel between two tubes.
this style of structure is extremely practical for a number of situations in which rapidly deployable, uncomplicated, and durability are required. Military applications, refugee camps, and music festivals are just a few situations in which this concept could be helpful in the least, and life-saving at best.
